Meridian Gardens Magic presents General Kala 13th Jan 2016 8PM

Meridian Gardens Magic presents General Kala at the Botanical Gardens Soundshell at 8pm on the 13th of January, 2016, as part of the Summer City festival. Grab your picnic baskets and your dancing shoes (or picnic shoes and dancing baskets, if preferred). We're hoping for a stunning Wellington evening - hopefully umbrellas will not be required. General Kala, who have taken inspiration from the 'New Wave Generation' of the late 1970s and early '80s (the likes of Ultravox, Yazoo, Blondie, Eurythmics, Kate Bush, After the Fire, Gary Numan, Visage, and even King Crimson and Genesis) now present their "angelic, visceral, retroactive, electronic rock” (sic) to those kind enough to listen. Jonny Spence (synthesisers), Christina Cusiel (vocal and keytar) and the monumental Darren Mathiassen (acoustic and electronic drums) are General Kala, your new favourite band.
