Songwriter-producer Jonny Spence and singer-songwriter Christina Cusiel are synth band General Kala, who have taken inspiration from the 'New Wave Generation' of the late 1970s and early '80s (the likes of Ultravox, Yazoo, Blondie, Eurythmics, Human League, Adam & the Ants, Kate Bush, After the Fire, King Crimson, Talk Talk, Genesis, Gary Numan, Visage - the end is listless...).

Their “angelic, visceral, retroactive, electronic rock” (sic) boasts analog synthesizers, soaring melodies and organic dance rhythms.

Live, the band come armed with the same raw elements (and a monumental drummer); Kala bring their retroactive ardor to those kind enough to listen.
